been pretty interested in fractal form generation, here are some quick mock ups dealing with the lissajous curve (harmonic motion) and its application to tall tower structure.
What's interesting about fractals is their basic being is comprosed of a imaginary number and a real number added. I^-2 = -1. It is almost a parallel to architecture, the mix of the real and the imaginary, and is a mathematical way to de4scribe things. Its almost as if there is an equation fro everything, so something about the site, the client the area can be translated into a mathematical equation and medeled thorugh fractal patterns, creating a physical form of something totally intangible. Creating something intangible and unreal. Parallels the basic thought of a skyscraper, the pinnacle of human engineering and potential, creating something the world never thought could be done and no one has seen before. Forward thinking. So for example say you have a certain word. A totally untangible non structural being that defines or illustrates an idea. By assigning numerical values for letters in the alphabet, a=1, b=2, you can create the equation of the word and different variations represented by different equations. E.G. Cat: C = 3, + A = 1, + T = 18, true equations + the imaginary = fractal. Or you can dive more into it Cat = (J-G) + A + T = CAT + I^2. … These equations can then be translated into fractal definitions, generating abstract/simple structural forms in which can be built. Its almost bridging the two worlds of imaginary and buildable. Start of an idea, should be interesting to see the finish.
