FREE Summer Music DC and NOVA



Best spots in DC to chill out on the grass.. 

Jazz in the Garden: Brazilian, big band, zydeco, salsa.. everything you can think of. Sit out on the grass, bring some booze and have a good time. @ Pavilion Cafe by the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Fridays 5 - 8:30 nga.gov

Global Musicians: ranging in style from American roots to afro-cuban jams, the Strathmore's Outdoor Pavilion has a ton of high quality performances. BBQ shack on site, drinks allowed. Wednesdays 7 to 8:30 June 24 - Aug 5. Strathmore.org

Acoustic on the Green: Luke Brindley and the like all show up here on the Leesburg town green with crowds into the 350 numbers. Great vibe... Saturdays 7 to 9 through August 22. 

Carter Barron Amphitheater: Ska, Reggae, neo-soul great lineups in the 3700 seat outdoor venue.. all acoustic of-course. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 7:30 pm into the late nights. mps.gov/rocr. tickets are free. 

Best Jazz: The wolftrap of SE DC, Fort Duponts free Saturday shows. Great spot with great restaurants around. Can draw crowds up to 20,000... top tier jazz and R&B on the wooden stage.. Some performers include Herbie Mann and Wynton Marsalis. Saturdays rain or shine 8:00 through August 22. Nps.gov/fodu

Indie Rock and Punk: Good spot is Fort Reno (concert series) Local indie rock and punk, free shows local bands located on DC's highest point so great views of the city. Grass byob. Thursdays 7:15 to 9:30 Mid June through July. fortreno.com
